“God Can Be Trusted”: Highlights from the August 2026 Miracle Service with Apostle Joshua Selman
Koinonia Global gathered once again for its eighth Miracle Service of the year, and from the very first note of worship, it was clear that this was going to be a night of encounter. Families connected online from across the globe, guests filled the overflow halls and basement, and among those present was His Excellency Mr. Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State, who was warmly welcomed and honored by the congregation.
Apostle Joshua Selman opened the service by leading the church into a posture of gratitude, reminding the congregation that appreciation is not merely a ritual but a spiritual discipline. “When you make up your mind to give God glory for every and anything he does in your life,” he said, “then you create room to see more of him in your life.”
A Culture of Gratitude
Drawing from Psalm 107 and Psalm 67, Apostle Selman called the church to give God “quality thanks” for a phenomenal season across North America — referencing the recently concluded Sound of Revival meetings in the UK, Canada, and the US. He urged believers not to wait for something spectacular before giving thanks, but to build gratitude into the rhythm of everyday life — a job, a healthy body, a functioning mind. “When you become a grateful Christian,” he said, “you become a progressive Christian.”
He also cautioned against a culture that seeks credit and visibility for itself rather than pointing to God. “There are things only God can do,” he reminded the congregation, warning against a world obsessed with being seen rather than being faithful.

Giving in Faith: Principles for the Offering
Before the offering, Apostle Selman took time to teach on the heart posture behind giving, admonishing the congregation — both in the auditorium and those following online — that offering is as much a part of the service as the message itself. He outlined several things to avoid in the journey of giving:
Murmuring or grumbling about giving, since Scripture instructs that every man give as he has proposed in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity. A transactional mentality that reduces giving to a formula for what one expects to receive back. Bringing an unworthy or careless offering, referencing the prophet Malachi’s rebuke of blemished sacrifices. And a “helping God” mentality, as though the Lord’s work depends on human giving rather than His own power.
“Give happily. Give willingly. Give sacrificially. Give in faith. Give with an expectation,” he encouraged, reminding the church that what truly matters is not only the size of a seed, but the faith and words spoken over it.
“God Can Be Trusted”: The Heart of the Message
The central theme of the night’s message was trust — specifically, the trustworthiness of God’s character. Apostle Selman explained that trust is built on a track record of credibility, and that many believers struggle to trust God simply because they do not have a functional revelation of who He is.
“When we say, Lord, I believe in you for a miracle… that statement will remain dead on arrival except it latches on a functional revelation of who God is,” he taught, referencing the truth that “the people that do know their God… shall be strong and shall do exploits.”
He reminded the congregation of foundational truths about God’s nature: that God was not created but is Himself the Creator, that power belongs exclusively to Him, and that it is impossible for Him to lie. Using the story of Joseph — whose path to the palace ran through a pit, a well, and a prison — Apostle Selman declared prophetically over the congregation: “When God decides that it is your time, when God decides that it is your season, I assure you there is no power in existence that sustains the ability to thwart the word of the Lord.”
He prophesied a season of comfort, restoration, and laughter for many in the congregation, referencing Sarah’s testimony in Genesis: “God has caused me to laugh, and all they that hear will laugh with me.”
What a Miracle Service Makes Available
Apostle Selman outlined what he described as a “buffet of spiritual things” available in every miracle service:
Salvation — the entrance point into the life and kingdom of God, with no substitute. Healing — grounded in the ministry of Jesus and the commission given to His disciples in Matthew 10. Liberty and deliverance — not just from spirits, but from negative conditions that hinder destiny, drawn from Isaiah 61. Illumination — supernatural understanding that exposes the true nature of a situation and its solution, referencing Isaiah 60 and the healing of the man at the pool of Bethesda. On illumination, he spent significant time addressing what he called “the destructive effect of faulty belief systems,” comparing wrong mindsets to an infection that spreads quietly through families, businesses, and even nations. “It is the union of the life of Christ and the mind of Christ that produces victory,” he taught. “If you have the life of Christ without the mind of Christ, you will still live a defeated life.”
He challenged the congregation to embrace ongoing transformation rather than clinging to familiar but unproductive ways of thinking: “Press for knowledge. Find out the areas of ignorance… If it’s not producing victory, if it’s not advancing your destiny, if it’s not glorifying God, then it’s important to open it up, put it on the table, and begin to do a work of editing.”
The list continued with restoration (of time, things, relationships, opportunities, and spiritual fire), guidance and direction through the Word, impartation of fresh grace, and encounters — divine visitations that move faith from something merely heard about to something personally experienced.
Three Channels of Divine Visitation
Apostle Selman taught that God visits His people primarily through three channels: His manifest presence, His wisdom (both through teaching and the prophetic), and His power. He described power in three ways — the capacity to influence outcomes, the force that compels compliance, and the agency to correct anomalies — before reminding the church that wisdom must always precede power. “It is wisdom that sets the space for power,” he said. “You don’t see the value of power until wisdom has prepared ground.”
Keys to Receiving
Ahead of the ministration time, Apostle Selman offered three keys for receiving from God that night:
First, believers must be conscious of the extent of God’s love toward them, drawn from Psalm 36 and Jeremiah 31:3 — “I have loved thee with an everlasting love.” Second, believers must be conscious of the extent of God’s power and ability, referencing Isaiah 40 and Ephesians 3:20. Third — and most practically — believers must release their faith, both through their words and through corresponding actions of obedience. Using the account of blind Bartimaeus in Mark 10, he emphasized that faith is released through declaration and demonstrated through action: “Your words… and your actions of obedience. These are the two ways we release our faith.”
A Night of Healing, Deliverance, and Testimonies
What followed was an extended time of ministration to the sick, with Apostle Selman calling out specific conditions — including migraines, blood conditions, respiratory issues, fibroids, and heart conditions — while leading the congregation, both on-site and online, in declarations of faith. He also called out several words of knowledge by name and nation, including individuals from Italy, Romania, and Nigeria.
The testimonies that followed were numerous and included healing from long-standing gastritis, nasal blockage, multiple fibroids, difficulty swallowing, chronic waist and back pain, partial deafness, sensitivity to cold water, light-induced migraines, numbness in the leg, and stroke-related speech impairment, among many others. One woman shared that a five-year spinal condition from childbirth complications had been resolved during the service. A young athlete testified of restored heart function after an episode of chest pain and slowed heart rate.
A recurring theme in the testimonies was the breaking of generational patterns — several individuals shared that conditions such as recurring tooth loss had affected multiple family members before them. Apostle Selman prayed pointedly over this pattern: “Any repetitive pattern you have seen in your family… we declare in the name of Jesus, beginning from you, it comes to an end now.”
A Word for the Nation
Mr. Peter Obi was invited to share brief remarks, thanking the ministry for its consistency and appealing to the congregation to remember Nigeria’s political leaders in prayer. “There’s nothing wrong with Nigeria,” he said. “What is wrong in Nigeria is the leadership… Remember us in your prayers… that we use the wealth of this nation and invest it.”
Looking Ahead: General Assembly 2026
Apostle Selman announced that with the Sound of Revival series in the UK, Canada, and the US now concluded, the ministry’s next major gathering will be the General Assembly, taking place November 18–22 in Abuja. He described it as “the annual prophetic gathering of the Koinonia Global family” — a time of feasting on the Word, prayer, and repositioning for the next phase of life as a global family. International guests were encouraged to connect with the ministry’s public relations team for guidance on travel and accommodation.
Altar Call and Prophetic Declaration
The service closed with an altar call, as several individuals came forward to receive Christ or rededicate their lives. Apostle Selman then released an extensive prophetic blessing over the congregation for the final quarter of the year, declaring recovery of all that had been lost since January, increase in every area of life, safety in travel, and what he called “the most excellent and rewarding season of your life.”
“Go and excel. You will not go down,” he declared. “Go and prosper, and you will not be in want.”
